I have an ant farm in my bedroom. The ants dig tunnels in the dirt. What I can’t figure out, Is where they found the tiny tractors, Or who is buying from them at market.

I don’t know where this came from. Out of the ether, I suppose. It’s just a fun image and a little story to go along with it. I wanted to do another one right away – army ants in the sandbox. Same basic principal with tiny tanks. Maybe this will turn into something bigger someday.
That’s one of the best things here at FrogBurps. We create something and brainstorm together, throw ideas back and forth and see what we can come up with. Something small like this can easily turn into a bigger series, or it can stay small and simple.
This drawing was so much fun to do. I could just imagine a whole ant life going on in there. I’d love to do this one in details and colors one day, but we try to keep these rather simple, so I had to find a place to stop. But there could be a whole story there about ants living their lives as usual (tractors, market place, potatoes, tomatoes, mining for diamonds deep down) and then suddenly they discover that they’re in an ant farm and try to escape. And isn’t that the beauty of this? A few lines of story leading to an illustration, and my imagination is working on overtime right away.
How about your imagination? What triggers it? And what do you do about it?
