Here’s this week’s Wednesday Story:

Bouncy Castle Trampoline - a short story by Patrick S. Stemp and Anita Soelver

Bouncy Castle Trampoline

We put a bouncy castle on a trampoline,
To get some extra height.
The bouncy castle is in orbit now,
And all the kids took flight!

Patrick's thoughts

I like thinking about the crazy fun things we might try if we still had the enthusiasm and energy and fearlessness of a child.

Honestly though, if anyone was going to put a bouncy castle on a trampoline, thinking that was a good idea, it was probably someone’s dad.

Anita's thoughts

This was pretty funny to make. I had a rather set image in mind when I read the story and this is it. Or as close as it can get, when it has to go from brain to paper (or in my case; screen).

It reminded me of my own childhood where countless hours were spent jumping like crazy on big jumping pillows and trampolines. We didn’t have any of those in our backyard like a lot of kids do now, but they were on camping sites and in family parks, and we would jump on them, even if the rain poured down.

Now I would probably mostly worry about falling off or breaking a leg. It’s a side effect of being an adult. Like sitting with other adults at parties. We should definitely be able to choose to sit at the kids’ table. The conversation is much more fun there.
