Here’s this week’s Wednesday Story:

Playing in the Rain - a short story by Patrick S. Stemp and Anita Soelver

Playing in the Rain

After weeks of heat and constant sun
It’s nice to play in the pouring rain
Even the adults get into the fun
Jumping in puddles
And dancing in the street
Until the sun comes out again

Patrick's thoughts

I’m not one for going out in the rain, but I do love sitting on the porch and watching it go by.

And bring on the thunder and lightning. I love a good storm!

It’s been a hot, dry summer this year. The lawn has been looking a little brown. When the rain does come, it’s very much appreciated, but never lasts long enough to do much good.

I’ll take rain over snow any day. I’m already dreading Winter! Some of the leaves have just started to turn, and that makes me a little sad.

Anita's thoughts

I like the idea of playing in the rain, but truth be told, I prefer sun and clear weather. At least if I’m going outside. I’m just boring like that. And of course, I’m a Dane, which means I have to complain if it gets too hot, so there’s really no way for the weather to please me, unless it’s that sweet spot where there’s a nice little breeze, not too hot, not too cold, and the sun isn’t trying to blind me.

Yeah, you guessed it. I’m inside a lot 😉

But what I love about rain, is to sit inside, and listening to it drumming on my windows and roof, preferably with a thunder rolling from the sky every now and then. There’s just something magically soothing about that.
