Here’s this week’s Wednesday Story:

Roller Coaster

Some people like being upside down
And tossed around
In a loop-de-loop
At the fair
But that makes other people green
And you don’t know which one you might be
Until you close your eyes
And give it a try
I think my lunch is coming back ooop

Patrick's thoughts

I’ve never had the stomach for thrills, chills, or spills. I love a straightforward, up and down roller coaster, but nothing too crazy for me.

Some of the rides at the bigger parks have to be fifty years old by now, and the phrase “health and safety” doesn’t spring to mind when I think of carnies putting them together.

Fun activity: walk around the theme park and see if you can spot the extra springs and cogs and screws left lying around.

Pass.

Anita's thoughts

I’m not a huge fan of roller coasters anymore, although I did love them as a child and in my young teenage years. Once in awhile, I’ll take a ride when visiting Disneyland Paris, but mostly I prefer family rides more, with things to look at and small thrills. I enjoy the music, the theme, and all the wonderful decorations way more than I enjoy the upside down experience.

I’ll leave the big thrills for the young ones and keep my lunch where it belongs – in my stomach!
