Taking out the Garbage
Momma told me to take out the garbage.
Then she sent me to my room.
I don’t know why she’s so mad.
Little brother will be gone soon.

I don’t always know where these come from. This one though, grew out of a sketch from the TV series “Little Britain USA” that stuck in my head.
The show is definitely not safe for kids, so we won’t link the video here. In this sketch, a woman’s dog (in her voice) demands that she do embarrassing things to prove her love. One of them is to “go stand in the trash”.
I’m sure that must be the image that eventually bubbled up and got mixed up with the idea of sibling rivalry.
As an only child until the age of 14, I’ve never had much experience in terms of having siblings to annoy me. They were simply too small, and then I moved away from home. But I’m pretty sure that my daughters sibling quarrels could have ended up like this when especially heated. Even though siblings love each other, most will probably fight at some point – that’s just life.
From an artistic viewpoint, this was challenging. Perspective is hard, and I keep learning new things. Also, trying to keep focus on the things that are important for the story, is a thing that is extremely hard to do in a busy image. But I love to make these! So much fun and very rewarding.
