The Best Pet
If I could pick any pet, I think I would like a polar bear.
I love them because they are so big, and cuddly looking.
I would feed him fish for lunch,
and take him for a walk every day.
Where did everyone go?

In many ways, I’m still 12 years old. I’ll give Anita the benefit of the doubt and say she’s closer to 16. We did name our company after a bodily function after all, though at least we kept it to one that’s not too gross (FrogFarts does have a certain ring to it).
I wrote this short because I want a polar bear. It’s not something I wanted when I was a kid, it’s something I want right now. A soft, cuddly baby polar bear, and we’ll be best friends, and when he grows up he will do my bidding.
These are the kinds of things I think about, and probably one of the reasons I’m writing. I wish I could talk to the animals like Dr. Doolittle. Then I could converse with the lions, and the birds, and the insects. And they would all do my bidding.
Probably best for everyone that this never happens. So I’ll just keep daydreaming, and writing, and burping.
I could see a whole book behind this little story. And it’s the same with many of these shorts. Which is all good.
But it also presents us with the problem of choice. Which story do we do for our next full book? Which one is the most fun and interesting? Which one do we think kids will like the most?
Your comments could really help us make informed choices. When you see something you’d like to see made into a full book, tell us! We’d love to hear from you. We will of course still choose from what we believe in the most, because we all have a set amount of time on this planet, and we couldn’t possibly be making every idea into a book. But your opinion matters, so speak up! Let us know what you think 🙂
